FAQ

What are some of the benefits of practicing yoga?

Yoga:

  • improves breathing
  • connects mind and body
  • reduces stress
  • improves immune system
  • helps circulation
  • helps with digestion and elimination
  • increases energy
  • builds stronger bones
  • gives a sense of wellbeing

What should I bring?

Blankets, mats, blocks and straps are all available for you to use at the studio.  Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

What health conditions should I make my teacher aware of?

Let us know if you have high or low blood pressure, back problems, recent major surgery or if you are pregnant.

What should I wear?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing.  Please leave your shoes in the area outside of the studio (to keep our floors both comfortable and sanitary). Feel free to bring purses and water bottles into the studio.  A large restroom for changing is located directly across the hall from the yoga studio.

Can I eat before class?

It is best to perform postures on an empty stomach.  Wait two hours after a full meal and one hour after a snack before doing yoga.

(Note: Please try to arrive a few minutes early so that you have time to relax before class, and please put away and silence all cell phones.)
